The Candy House
Hansel and Gretel lived at the edge of a deep forest with their family. When times grew hard, their parents took them into the woods, and the children soon found themselves lost among the tall trees.
Hansel had cleverly dropped white pebbles along the path, but birds had eaten them all! The two children wandered deeper into the forest, growing more tired and hungry with each step. Just when they felt they couldn't walk anymore, they discovered something magical.
There, in a sunny clearing, stood a cottage made entirely of candy and gingerbread! The walls were decorated with colorful frosting, and the roof was covered in chocolate tiles. Hansel and Gretel couldn't believe their eyes.
They began to nibble on the delicious house, breaking off pieces of peppermint stick and eating gumdrop doorknobs. Suddenly, the door creaked open, and out stepped an old woman with a crooked smile. She invited them inside for a proper meal.
But the children soon realized the witch wanted to keep them prisoner! Gretel was very clever and brave. When the witch wasn't looking, she tricked her and locked her away in her own cage.
Hansel and Gretel found their way home using a trail of breadcrumbs they made from the gingerbread house. Their family was overjoyed to see them safe and sound. From that day on, the children never wandered into the deep forest alone, and they always stuck together through every adventure.
