CHROMIN pressed his helmet tight and peeked through the round window of his tiny rocket. Below him, Earth looked like a blue marble spinning in the dark.

The rocket whooshed past glittery stars and a soft purple cloud of space dust. CHROMIN whispered, “Hello, space,” and felt brave in his bouncy seat.

Suddenly, a ring of bright lights appeared ahead, like a floating hoop. His rocket slowed down all by itself, as if it had met a traffic light in the sky.

Out drifted a smooth silver ship shaped like a seashell. Three aliens popped up in the window, waving with hands that looked like warm jelly.

CHROMIN opened his radio and said, “Hi! I’m CHROMIN from Earth.” The aliens replied in musical beeps, then switched to clear words: “Welcome, Space Friend!”

They invited him to their ship, and he floated inside like a balloon. Their room had star maps on the walls and a snack table with glowing cubes that smelled like strawberries.

“My name is Zim,” said the tallest alien, “and these are Lolo and Pree.” CHROMIN laughed when Pree’s antennae wiggled every time she giggled.

The aliens showed CHROMIN a telescope that could zoom in on comets and tiny moons. CHROMIN taught them a simple Earth game: Rock, Paper, Scissors, using floating gloves.

Soon they all sat together, watching Earth shine far away. CHROMIN said, “On Earth we share stories, music, and cookies. Would you like to visit?”

Zim’s eyes sparkled like new stars. “We want to learn Earth kindness,” he said, “but we don’t want to scare anyone.”

CHROMIN nodded. “We’ll come gently,” he promised, “and I’ll introduce you to my friends.” Lolo handed him a small badge that glowed: FRIEND PASS.

They flew beside CHROMIN’s rocket, guiding him home like helpful lanterns. As Earth grew bigger, CHROMIN imagined aliens trying playground swings and waving at people.

When the rocket landed, CHROMIN stepped out and held up the FRIEND PASS. “Everybody,” he said, smiling wide, “I brought new friends from space—and they came in peace.”
