Our Earth spins around and around like a top. This spinning makes day and night happen.
Meet Sunny the Sun! Sunny is a big ball of hot, glowing gas. Sunny shines bright light on our planet Earth.
When your part of Earth faces Sunny, it is daytime. The sky looks blue. You can see everything clearly because of Sunny's light.
Meet Luna the Moon! Luna comes out at night. Luna does not make her own light. She reflects light from Sunny like a mirror.
During nighttime, the sky looks dark. You can see stars twinkling far away. Many animals sleep at night.
