Sleeping Beauty
Long ago, a king and queen celebrated the birth of their daughter, Princess Aurora. They invited everyone in the kingdom to a grand celebration, including all the fairies—except one.
The evil fairy Malvora arrived uninvited, furious at being forgotten. She pointed her purple staff at the baby and declared, "Before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, the princess will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into an eternal sleep!" The king and queen gasped in horror.
But the good fairy Flora stepped forward with a gentle smile. "I cannot undo this curse, but I can soften it," she said kindly. "Aurora will sleep, yes, but she can be awakened by true love's kiss."
Years passed, and Aurora grew into a kind and joyful young woman. Despite the king's orders to burn every spinning wheel in the kingdom, Malvora's magic was strong. On Aurora's sixteenth birthday, she discovered a hidden tower with an enchanted spinning wheel.
Curious, Aurora reached out and touched the spindle. Immediately, she fell into a deep sleep, and thorny vines grew around the castle, protecting it from the world. The entire kingdom fell asleep with her—the king, the queen, even the dogs and cats.
A hundred years passed until Prince Philip heard the legend of the sleeping princess. Armed with courage and a heart full of hope, he cut through the thick thorns with his sword.
He climbed the tower stairs and found Aurora sleeping peacefully, as beautiful as the day she fell asleep.
Philip had heard stories of Aurora's kindness and bravery all his life. He knelt beside her and gently kissed her forehead. Aurora's eyes fluttered open, and she smiled at the prince.
Instantly, the spell broke! The king and queen awakened, the servants stretched and yawned, and the whole castle came back to life. Flowers bloomed where thorns had grown, and birds sang joyfully in the trees.
Aurora and Philip discovered they shared a love of adventure, music, and helping others. The kingdom celebrated for seven days and seven nights, and Aurora and Philip lived happily, ruling with wisdom and kindness. And Malvora? Her dark magic faded away, defeated by the power of true love.
