My Parents Are Busy

My name is Chloe. Sometimes my parents are busy at home, and that is okay. Mum and Dad have many things to do each day. They might be cooking dinner, working on their computers, talking on the phone, or doing laundry. These are all important jobs that help our family.

When my parents are busy, I can see that they are doing something. Mum might be typing on her laptop or stirring something on the stove. Dad might be on a phone call or fixing something around the house.

If my parents are very busy, they might say, "Just a moment, please, Chloe." This means they heard me and they will help me soon. They are not ignoring me. They just need to finish their important task first. While I wait, I can do calm activities. I can read a book, draw a picture, play with my toys, or look out the window. These activities help the time pass quickly.

Later, when my parents are not busy, we can spend time together. We might talk, play a game, or have a meal together. These are special times that we all enjoy.
