The Witch

In a small, busy city, there lived a witch named Zizi. She had a pointy purple hat and shoes that squeaked when she walked.

Zizi did not like scary spells. She liked silly spells that made people giggle and scratch their heads.

Early one morning, Zizi peeked from her tiny rooftop house. She saw people hurrying to work and school.

Suddenly, the gray sidewalk turned into a rainbow path. People stopped and laughed as their shoes left little glittery footprints.

Next, she spotted a long, grumpy traffic jam. Cars beeped and drivers frowned.

Zizi twirled her wand. 'Bibbly-beep, bibbly-boo, let these horns play music too!'

At the park, children sat quietly on the swings. They looked a little bored.

Zizi grinned and tapped a tree. The leaves turned into floating balloons that bobbed gently in the air.

Some grown-ups wondered where all the silliness came from. They looked up and saw Zizi on her roof, giggling.

‘Are you a good witch?’ a little girl called. ‘I’m a fun witch!’ Zizi replied. ‘I like to tickle the city, not scare it.’

The people of the small city waved and smiled. They liked their city much better with a bit of magic and a lot of fun.

And Zizi the witch, high above the streets, promised to keep the city laughing, one silly spell at a time.
