Everyone Is Good at Something
My name is Mia, and I go to school with other children my age. Sometimes I notice that my classmates can do things that seem hard for me.
Today in class, Mrs. Chen asked us to read out loud from our books. Sam read his page very quickly and smoothly. I felt worried because reading out loud is still tricky for me, and sometimes I need extra time with the words. When it was my turn, I read more slowly than Sam. Mrs. Chen smiled at me and said, 'Well done, Mia. You are working hard.' That made me feel a little better.
After reading time, we had art class. Mrs. Chen gave us paper, paint, and brushes. I love painting! I carefully mixed the colors blue and yellow to make green, just like the grass outside our window. Sam looked at my painting and said, 'Wow, Mia! Your tree looks so real. I can't make trees like that.' I felt happy and proud. Painting is something I am good at.
Then we went outside for sports time. Elena could run very fast and won the race. I didn't win the race, but I cheered for Elena because she did a great job. Running fast is something Elena is good at. During building block time, I watched Sam make a tall tower that didn't fall down. Building is something Sam is good at. Sam helped me make my tower stronger, and I showed Sam how to paint stripes on the blocks with markers.
