The Tortoise and the Hare

In a sunny meadow, Harry the Hare loved to boast about how fast he could run. One day, he laughed at Tommy the Tortoise for being so slow.

Tommy didn't get upset. Instead, he calmly challenged Harry to a race, and all the forest animals gathered to watch.

The race began, and Harry zoomed ahead like lightning. He ran so far in front that he couldn't even see Tommy behind him anymore.

This is too easy," Harry thought, yawning. "I have plenty of time for a nap." He curled up under a shady tree and fell fast asleep.

Meanwhile, Tommy kept moving forward, one slow step at a time. He never stopped, even though his legs were tired and the finish line seemed far away.

Hour after hour, Tommy walked steadily along the path. He passed the sleeping Harry without making a sound.

When Harry finally woke up, he stretched and looked around. To his shock, he saw Tommy nearly at the finish line!

Harry jumped up and ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. Tommy crossed the finish line first, and all the animals cheered!

Harry hung his head in shame. "I'm sorry I was so boastful," he said to Tommy.

Tommy smiled kindly at his friend. "Slow and steady wins the race," he said. "It's not about being the fastest—it's about never giving up."

From that day on, Harry learned to be humble and to respect others. And Tommy became a hero who proved that determination matters more than speed.
