Pip had a purple ball. It rolled away on the snow.

Pip saw a sign. It said, "lake." "Lake," said Pip. "I can try."

By the lake, Pip saw a sign. It said, "here." "Here!" said Pip. "Is my ball here?"

No ball was here. A new sign said, "there." Pip went there with a waddle, waddle.

There was a little hill. A sign said, "shake." Pip gave the snow a shake, shake, shake.

Out popped the purple ball! A last sign said, "food." Pip read it and smiled. "I can read!" said Pip.
