Animals Around Us
Animals live all around us. We can see them every day. Some animals live in our homes. Some live in our yards. Some live in parks and trees.
Chirpy is a sparrow. She is a small bird with brown feathers. Chirpy builds her nest in trees. She eats seeds and little bugs. You can hear her sing in the morning.
Nutty is a squirrel. He has a big bushy tail. Nutty lives in a tree too. He collects nuts and stores them for winter. He can jump from branch to branch very fast.
Buddy is a dog. He is a pet that lives with people. Dogs are very friendly animals. Buddy loves to play and run. He wags his tail when he is happy.
Flutter is a butterfly. She has beautiful orange and black wings. Butterflies drink sweet nectar from flowers. They help flowers grow by spreading pollen. Flutter flies from flower to flower all day.
All these animals are important. They are part of nature. We must be kind to animals. We can give birds water to drink. We can leave nuts for squirrels. We can take care of our pets. We can plant flowers for butterflies.
Animals make our world special. They teach us about nature. Some animals work hard like ants. Some are fast like rabbits. Some are very small like ladybugs. Every animal is amazing in its own way.
